Chinese Medicine Ophthalmology Seminars
NEW 2018 classes coming soon!
I am so sorry for the delays in getting classes posted. It’s a tremendous project reworking the ophthalmology class as I want as well as the teaching manuals and materials. And then there’s the NCCAOM approval process…and some serious and stressful family issues are happening that are taking me out of town periodically. Acupuncture feels very far away right now but I am hoping to do classes in Minneapolis in September and October. I would like to hit the west coast (Portland/Seattle and LA this fall/winter, too). If you can assist with a location, let me know. Thank you for your patience, but I can only do what I can do right now…
Course Description: With today’s aging population, this is an essential class that will be extremely useful in your practice. Participants will review Eastern and Western anatomy & physiology of the eye, learn how to treat common conditions such as conjunctivitis, and chronic ailments such as macular degeneration and glaucoma with traditional Chinese acupuncture, herbs, supplements, nutrition and various unique acupuncture systems such as AcuNova, Micro-Acupuncture, Sooji, unique auricular therapies and scalp points. You’ll also benefit from my 14 years of clinical tips, techniques, and experience. Time permitting, participants will also learn and practice Dr. Richard Niemtzow’s Dry Mouth/Dry Eye protocol. This is an amazingly effective and simple to learn technique that will be incredibly useful in your practice.
Participants will be given ample time to practice needling and leave feeling confident in their skills. Many of these techniques require free-hand needling and I have all students needle me (Mats) so that I’m assured you’re inserting properly. In addition, vision testing skills will be practiced and testing tools will be provided that you can keep and use in your clinic.
This is a fun, informative and highly interactive course! There are no ridiculous “francise” fees or other hidden costs. Learn It, Know It, Use It!
“Thank you to Mats for sharing so much information to improve our treatments and help patients improve their sight. Mats is one of those practitioners that you meet and never want to stop learning from. He is a teacher and provider that is intelligent, humorous and kind. He is able to teach directly to everyone in the class, making each student feel equally important regardless of background or understanding. I look forward to learning from him at my next chance!” -Holly Battrum, Dipl. OM, L.Ac.
“I appreciate your generosity of spirit, your calm demeanor and fun approach. I am grateful for your willingness to share protocols that I had wanted to learn for a long time.” -Ayudin Bengisu, L.Ac.
“Mats is an awesome teacher-clear and to the point, funny, relatable, sensitive and answers questions well. I learned so much in such a short time and will definitely be first in line for any future seminars he offers.” -Claire Mallory, L.Ac.
“I just wanted to express my thanks. I really enjoyed the course, you’re a real pleasure to study under and I’m really looking forward to putting this into practice. My sincerest gratitude for all you taught me this weekend!” -Adam Thompson, L.Ac.
“I attended Mats’s seminar in 2017 and it was great! Mats is an amazing person who cares to ‘make sure you’re getting it.’ We had lots of hands-on, personal stories, and effective no-BS time wasting like so many other seminars. This was all meat and potatoes stuff that I am using immediately back at my clinic. He is very smart, experienced and talks and acts like a true leader. I must say I was super impressed with the whole weekend.” -Brad Whisnant, L.Ac.
